If you're planning to Learn Programming in university...you gotta be kidding! it's impossible! Especially in Nigeria!
You can go to school for the certificate, but the real learning takes place out of school!!

Take for instance,,, In the Nigeria tertiary curriculum, the only course that 'resembles' programming small is Fortran98!!!

Fortran is one of the first programming language and was written by IBM released in the 90's. Since then 'uncountable' other languages have been written...but still Nigeria teaches only Fortran, while some schools 'with force' teaches JAVA!(the out-dated version!)

In the US, they are taught Programming and Coding right from Class 1!, meanwhile at home here, we are unable to make Computer compulsory-even in secondary school!!

The people that struggled to make it 'small' can't even get recognition-talk more-Government funding.

My friend in Lautech that built a Drone (out of locally sourced materials) was not even recognized, nobody knew him!!
Meanwhile, 'ordinary' kidnapper Evans is gaining more popularity than Senate President: Abubakar Bukola Saraki (according to Twitter)

Nigeria and Africa as a whole really needs to wake up!!
Maybe when Python version 50 is released, Nigeria will start teaching Python version 2!!!!

I was at a meetup and someone said "Why Nigeria is still crawling in terms of Technology is because, Nigeria leaders are too old to be interested in Tech!"

Even if they don't want us to lead, at least we can start leading right from our streets!! We can start up something that would bring us to recognition-as opposed to waiting for it!
